The Underdogs vs. The Bodydonnas – Retro Pro Wrestling Show: Ep. 3

In episode 3 of the Retro Pro Wrestling show, we go back to Survivor Series 1995 for one of the greatest elimination matches of all time, an underappreciated gem pitting The Underdogs vs. The Body Donnas.

Marty Jannetty leads Bob Holly, Barry Horowitz, and Hakushi against Sunny’s team of Skip, Dr. Tom Pritchard, Rad Radford, and Ted Dibiase’s newest recruit, the 123 Kid in a hugely entertaining match that’s worth revisiting.

Episode 3: The Underdogs vs. The Bodydonnas

In this episode you’ll hear about:

The World Wrestling Federation at a Low Point

With Mabel in the main event and a string of underperforming shows, it’s fair to say that the WWF as at a major low by the time Survivor Series 1995 came around.

At this point, the men in our featured contest were hovering around the bottom end of the company’s heirachy, making it all the more surprising -and entertaining- that this match shone as bright as it did.

The 123 Kid Heel Turn

After turning his back on Razor Ramon, the 123 Kid joined forces with The Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase and replaced Jean Pierre Lafitte as the fourth member of Skip & Sunny’s Bodydonnas team.

Bob Holly Kicking Ass

Bob Holly gets an unnecessary amount of flack on The Retro Pro Wrestling show. This match proved why he didn’t deserve it as the future Hardcore Champion wrestled his heart out.

Plus:

  • Rad Radford trying and failing to become a fully-fledged Bodydonna
  • Barry Horowitz making a rookie mistake
  • Why quality pro wrestling and sports entertainment don’t have to be mutually exclusive
  • And more…
